If you've bought or sold at Garth's in the past 4o years, then you probably know Tom Porter. Sadly, Tom passed away this past weekend after a brief battle with cancer. Tom was a bright light in the antiques industry for decades...he will be missed.
Although I only met Tom once, I left the auction with memories that have lasted for more years than I can count. My experience at my first auction was just the beginning of many happy years in the antique business. I've thought of Garths many times over the years and always felt that if I walked in the door I would be greeted as if remembered. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
