Hi from England
We are Antiquesnews & Fairs and we co-ordinate National Antiques Week 15-22 November 2010. We saw your article via AntiquesDigest on Twitter, we are AntiqNewsFairs and NatAntiquesWeek. Do you have a Twitter a/c? We would like to mention you on ANF and for the campaign for NAW this year, which is to encourage a younger audience to antiques - you are doing a great job!

Thank you so much Hollie and Andrew for this wonderful column! I'm 28 years old and a very enthusiastic collector of early American antiques. Sometimes I feel as if I am the only one of my peers that have that love and appreciation of old treasures. I have already passed your column on via email to several of my friends and family and we will make collectors out of them yet!

Thanks all for kind words, y'all! We are not yet on FB or Twitter, but we'll get that going before the fall show season (we'll get the accounts set up soon so that we can get the names out there for you).

Please do pass the Top Ten around. Nothing would make us happier than seeing it posted at shows and other venues!

Jenn--come check out Garth's! Sale this weekend and then Labor Day...www.garths.com.

Mr England--Wonderful! Glad we are able to reach across the pond! We hope to make it to NAW sometime.

I have been collecting Arts & Crafts for 15 years now, started when I was 23. Back then I hung out with people twice my age and looked around at shows to see no peers, ever. I hope kids pick up on this as now it is a second career for me as I buy and sell and make good money to pay for things i want! You must apply the time to study forms, read up, make mistakes, buy what you like and make up your mind quick before its gone (California flea market mind set!). Before you know it, you are the expert! Thakns for the great read, will be posting on Facebook.

Just now catching up on your blog, and your 10 reasons succinctly state what I tell my customers. You just said it better! The list now gets posted at my shop (the Duck Creek Antique Mall) in Cincinnati, where I see a really great cross-section of age groups shopping (and buying)! Keep up the good work!

We love Duck Creek! A good friend of ours (Mimi Morgan) has booth space there. Please, print up the top 10 and pass 'em out like candy. The next step is to get them into places that young, non-antiquers frequent!
